GreenTimeSports WWE 2K18 Story: Chapter Three – An Extreme Risk for an Extreme Reward

Arena: Smackdown Live

Bryan slowly gets up, as he is still in disbelief on everything that has just happened. Daniel says he needs to get to his wife and child, but Cena reminds Daniel he is now the WWE Champion along with being the only person with the same amount of authority as both Triple H and Stephanie. Cena tells Bryan he needs to stay, as Triple H interrupts. He says that Bryan is going to stay, until he looses the WWE Championship. Triple H says that after the craziness that just took place, he admits he’s unsure how long he’ll have his authority for. Hunter goes ahead and schedules Dolph Ziggler’s WWE Championship rematch against Daniel Bryan at the next WWE Network event Extreme Rules. Triple H tells Daniel that Dolph will get to pick the stipulation, however. Cena demands to know what other WWE memorabilia has mystical powers like Undertaker’s Urn and apparently The New Day’s unicorn horns. Triple H corrects Cena, saying the powers are voodoo driven, and then mocks Cena about being one of the greatest wrestlers ever without having a clue about the real WWE world around him. Cena suggests to Daniel that they go after the urn. Bryan is annoyed Hunter is still worried about championships after the chaos they just went through, so he schedules a big tag team match between a bunch of the superstars tonight.

Raw Women’s Champion Alexa Bliss, Nia Jax & Tamina vs. Sasha Banks, Bayley & Alundra Blayze

Objective: Win with Banks, Bayley & Blayze

Bliss complains after the match that Alundra Blayze shouldn’t be allowed to compete, because she’s from a different time period. Alexa demands Nia & Tamina take out Alundra Blayze. Stephanie McMahon comes out on stage and tells everyone to settle down, because they’re going to start running things her way around here. Stephanie says they should welcome Alundra in with open arms, and that her presence should be glorified. Stephanie announces that Alexa will defend her Raw Women’s Championship against Alundra Blayze again, at Extreme Rules. This shocks Alexa along with the commentary team, until Stephanie also says that Tamina and Nia Jax will be part of the match to make it a Fatal-4-Way. Stephanie laughs, as does Nia, Alexa and Tamina.

Raw Tag Team Champion The New Day are backstage and enter a dark room. Kofi says this is where he was brought by The Ascension. Big E., in confusing fashion, reveals they’re in the back of a stage production truck. They find Corbin still knocked out, as Xavier asks Kofi how hard he kicked Corbin? Kofi says pretty hard, as he was trying to get the hell away. The New Day carry Corbin away. Woods complains how heavy Corbin is.

Cruiserweight Champion Tommaso Ciampa (with Titus O’Neil, Darren Young & Apollo Crews) vs. Gran Metalik

Objective: Win with Ciampa

The Titus Brand beats down Metalik after the match, as Crews watches in disgust again. Neville’s music hits as cruiserweight king enters the stage. Neville announces that despite Triple H’s attempts to keep the belt off the real king in WWE, he will have his rematch at Extreme Rules. Neville asks Apollo why he continues to align himself with such douchebags? Titus grabs a microphone, very upset telling Neville kids are watching and that Crews signed a contract with Titus World Wide. O’Neil claims his brand is up-and-coming, the hottest thing in social media and the future of sports entertainment. Neville calls Titus a con-artist and a knock off used car salesman. Neville tells Titus the only reason he can get his clients like Tozawa and Ciampa Cruiserweight Championship matches is because his ‘brand’ is owned by Triple H. Crews looks at O’Neil with uncertainty, as Titus is clearly upset. Neville tells Crews to think about it. All of Titus’ new clients happen to be cruiserweights, a championship previously held by a man who never did bow to Triple H. Neville says the only reason Titus gets his clients title matches is because Triple H hand delivers them, in hopes that Titus will find someone so pathetic (Ciampa takes offense to) that they will immediately hand the belt over when the time comes. Neville asks Crews that when his time comes for a championship match, will he end up handing it over to Titus for Triple H, or will he fight like a man? Titus has heard enough, and invites Neville to the ring to fight. Neville laughs, saying the odds aren’t quite in his corner, but looks forward to dismantling the Titus World Wide Brand at Extreme Rules. The King of the Cruiserweights leaves as Crews thinks over Neville’s words.

In the locker room, The Shield are going over ideas to get Undertaker’s Urn. Seth says they need a tactical plan. Ambrose wants to bull rush Triple H, while Roman says he just wants to punch someone. John Cena enters and tells them he believes Daniel Bryan has calmed down, and is ready to lead the WWE Universe against Triple H and Stephanie. Cena says they need to get Undertaker’s Urn from Triple H to find Shane, which The Shield says they were just discussing. It finally hits Cena that Triple H must’ve tasked the Wyatt’s with taking out The Undertaker & Kane so that he could control the Urn with no interference. They wonder where the Wyatt’s are, and decide to go find them. Cena says finding them may lead them to The Fashion Police as well.

NORMAL MATCH – Intercontinental Championship

(C) Finn Balor vs. Randy Orton

Objective: Win with Finn Balor

In the backstage office, Stephanie tells Hunter that Finn has been impressive and that her idea to use him is looking good. Stephanie believes they should’ve done things her way months ago. WWE Champion Daniel Bryan enters and asks Triple H what other WWE items have mystical powers and how it’s even possible? Triple H says he is tired of correcting people, it’s voodoo powers and not mystical. Bryan doesn’t see the difference. Triple H changes the subject, patronizing Bryan that he is now the face of WWE and represents the company rather than the people. Triple H tells Daniel with this new role he has, Bryan must perform in the ring. Bryan says his neck may not hold up, which Stephanie tells Daniel he should’ve thought about that before he stole their WWE Championship. Triple H tells Daniel that he booked him in the tag team match Bryan made earlier, replacing John Cena. Triple H says that as acting champion, Daniel Bryan will continue to fight each night until he breaks his neck and forced to hand Triple H the belt. Daniel Bryan looks at Hunter angrily, as Triple H tells him he should go prepare for his match.

Sami Zayn vs. United States Champion AJ Styles

Objective: Win with AJ Styles

Raw Tag Team Champion The New Day carry Baron Corbin through the backstage hallways. The lights go out and turn back on, as the entire Wyatt Family is standing in front of them. A huge brawl breaks out backstage between both teams. The lights flicker on and off as the fight ensues. The lights turn off and on as New Day stands tall, but Baron Corbin and The Wyatt Family are gone.

In the backstage office, Triple H and Stephanie are approached by Paul Heyman and Brock Lesnar. Heyman asks when Lesnar can have his rematch for Roman’s Universal Championship? Triple H says it depends on if Lesnar can actually follow through this time. The comment clearly rubs Lesnar the wrong way, as Heyman acts as peacekeeper. Heyman tells Hunter that Brock has done everything he has been asked to do, and deserves another chance to get back his title. Stephanie tells Paul that Brock can have his rematch at Extreme Rules, but if he loses he won’t get another opportunity. Paul questions why Brock would be so loyal to a pair of people who clearly lack loyalty themselves? Triple H tells Brock he will do as he’s told, unless he wants to make a huge career mistake. Brock gets in Triple H’s face as Stephanie now intervenes. She tells Brock he will have Roman in an Extreme Rules Match, that way he will be ‘unleashed’ in destroying Roman Reigns. Brock smiles arrogantly at Triple H, as Heyman accepts on his beast’s behalf before they depart.

Gallows & Anderson & The Outsiders vs. Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins, Universal Champion Roman Reigns & WWE Champion Daniel Bryan

Objective: Win with Ambrose, Rollins, Reigns & Bryan

Dolph Ziggler immediately hits Bryan with a Zig Zag after the match, which hurts Bryan’s already injured neck. Ziggler begins choking Bryan with his hoodie, as Gallows/Anderson & The Outsiders fight The Shield outside the ring. Lesnar’s music hits as the beast heads straight for Roman Reigns. Ziggler continues beating Bryan down as the others fight into the back area. Ziggler takes a chair and drills Bryan in the head with it. Ziggler takes a microphone and talks about how he used to look up to Daniel Bryan. Ziggler says he is now, literally, looking down at him. Dolph claims Daniel stole his championship and his spotlight – which is something Dolph claims he usually does. Ziggler tells Daniel at Extreme Rules, he takes back his spotlight and his championship when he defeats him in an Ironman Match! Ziggler says he will be the one to personally send Daniel Bryan back to his family with a broken neck. He tosses the microphone and leaves.

Arena: Raw

Raw Tag Team Champion The New Day clap their way to the ring. They do their usual introduction before getting serious. They tell everyone with all the chaos currently going on, they have some explaining to do. They reveal they have no idea how their unicorn horns have mystical powers, but received them from Triple H & Stephanie McMahon when they worked with The Authority. Kofi explains that they’ve never had to use their unicorn horn powers until he was kidnapped by The Ascension and held hostage by Baron Corbin. Xavier goes over the event when The Wyatt Family tried to prevent The New Day from finding out more answers, taking Corbin away from them. Xavier says it’s no secret the Wyatt’s have been working with Triple H from the beginning, and they demand The Wyatt’s come out and fight right now. The Wyatt’s all appear on the big screen, as Bray begins his creepy laugh. Bray tells The New Day he hates them and everything they stand for. Bray says their entire way of life patronizes what Bray Wyatt is. Bray tells The New Day he would love nothing more than to send his family out to destroy them, but he doesn’t know what other tricks (like a weaponized unicorn horn) the New Day might have up their sleeves. Bray says the devil asked them not to touch New Day, because the devil also fearfully respects them. Bray says the devil knows that the smallest amount of light can be seen in darkest of places, so unfortunately they can’t extinguish the New Day light… yet. Bray laughs and reveals the devil has booked The New Day in a tag team match against them at Extreme Rules and it will be for the Raw Tag Team Championships. Bray suggests instead of waiting for the impending punishment of their betrayal towards Triple H & Stephanie, the New Day should relinquish their championships now… and RUN!

Apollo Crews (with Darren Young) vs. Samoa Joe

Objective: Win with Samoa Joe

After the match, Kevin Owens runs down and begins to beat the hell out of Samoa Joe. Owens yells at Joe that he betrayed Triple H, and he’s been tasked with making Joe pay. Crews wants to help Joe, but Young leads him away and up the ramp. United States Champion AJ Styles runs down, passing Young & Crews, hitting the ring. AJ knocks Owens off Joe and hits him with a Pele Kick, before Owens retreats out of the ring. Styles checks on Joe as a heated Owens heads up the ramp.

Stephanie is reading a piece of paper as Triple H walks into the office. She asks if Triple H read the latest memo from the Board of Directors? He has not, so Stephanie reads it to him. She reveals that after Triple H led the company’s show into a different time period, they will be sending a new representative next month to oversee and officially take over Triple H, Stephanie McMahon and Daniel Bryan’s authority. Stephanie is not pleased, and once again blames Hunter for using the Urn to begin with. Triple H says its not all lost, and then confidently tells Stephanie he knows she is smart enough to pull this off. The two kiss as Owens runs in, out of breath. He says he attacked Samoa Joe, now wants his championship match. Triple H tells Owens that Joe was still conscious in the ring, unimpressed. Hunter says that on Smackdown Live, if Kevin beats Joe then he will get a championship match. Owens, irritated, agrees and leaves. Stephanie isn’t happy with the way Triple H controlled the situation, considering Owens’ recent outbursts.

Heath Slater & Rhyno vs. Gallows & Anderson

Objective: Win with Gallows & Anderson

Anderson grabs microphones after the match, revealing he and Gallows were given their rematch against American Alpha at Extreme Rules. Anderson says that his good brother Luke Gallows will defeat Jason Jordan on Smackdown tomorrow night, and that they will deliver what they promised to Stephanie & Hunter.

Dolph Ziggler enters Triple H and Stephanie’s office. As Dolph goes to shake Hunter’s hand, Triple H hugs him. Dolph hugs Stephanie and then it’s revealed that Dolph hurt Daniel Bryan so bad on Smackdown that he hasn’t shown up to the arena tonight. Triple H says Dolph did enough damage, pleased with what Ziggler did. Intercontinental Champion Finn Balor enters, overhearing them speak. Finn tells Hunter he thought what Dolph did on Tuesday night was cowardly and heinous. Stephanie tells Finn it wasn’t as bad as it looks, but Finn reminds her that Daniel Bryan was retired because of a neck injury not long ago. Finn asks Dolph if he was trying to kill Daniel Bryan? Triple H asks so what if they were? Hunter claims Finn was groomed by him, and that he has no right to question his mentor’s actions. Finn says with all due respect, he was wrestling much longer before Triple H found him. Finn claims that he was created by no man. Triple H laughs and says that Finn is a little rebellious on the inside, but thought he was smarter to see the big picture. Stephanie intervenes, saying that they will need Finn’s championship sometime very soon and that he would be wise to oblige. Finn laughs and says they must be talking to Dolph and not him, before leaving. Triple H looks at Stephanie and says ‘I told you so’.

Dean Ambrose & Seth Rollins vs. The Usos

Objective: With with Ambrose & Rollins

Universal Champion Roman Reigns and John Cena are watching the tag team match backstage. Paul Heyman approaches them, to which Roman gets trigger happy until Cena calms him down. Paul says he has not come as an enemy, but as an advocate… for the WWE. Heyman recounts Lesnar’s intense moment with Triple H not long ago, and is worried that he made a good business deal with a bad business man. Roman emphasizes that he doesn’t make deals, but Heyman tells Roman he’s an idiot to think he can win this war on his own – or even with just Cena and his Shield brothers. Heyman says he has been around the business for a while, and that he has learned to pick sides in crucial moments of history. Heyman asks if they ever wondered how he survived when ECW did not? It’s because Heyman always sees the bigger picture as a survivor. Cena asks what Paul wants, so Paul says simply ‘ a deal’. Roman says he will not screw Brock over in the match, and that Heyman is wasting his time trying to switch over to The Shield. Heyman laughs and says he doesn’t want to betray his beast, but his beast wants to make it clear to Roman that he does not work for Triple H. Paul says his deal is that no matter what happens between the two at Extreme Rules, they must see eye-to-eye after the match. Heyman offers a hand shake to Roman Reigns. The deal is made, which Roman calls more of a truce. John warns Paul that if he or Brock betray them, he’s going to make Heyman wish he went down with ECW. Heyman nervously acknowledges Cena’s comments saying that this is an extreme risk, but it could also be an extreme reward. Heyman scurries away.

Titus wonders if Crews is becoming soft, which Crews points out that nothing is softer than handing Triple H a championship that you earned. Titus tells Crews if he’s trying to say something then to say it. Crews comes out and reveals he isn’t happy with Titus lately, and says it does seem strange that he’s only recruiting cruiserweights to his brand and that they magically get title shots. Titus smacks Apollo in the face! Titus yells that everything he does is because his brand is a success and that Apollo Crews is failure. Suddenly, Young attacks Crews from behind. Young tosses him around the backstage area as Titus yells at Crews for being unappreciative and a loser. Ciampa calmly approaches Titus and asks if what Crews said was true? Titus tells Ciampa to keep fighting successfully, and Titus will continue to provide the Titus Brand service. Ciampa warns Titus that he didn’t stab his friend in the back while at NXT just to hand his championship over. Titus laughs and says, ‘of course not’. Ciampa walks away, bumping shoulders with Titus, as both Titus and Young look at each other nervously.

She says that she trusted Finn would do the right thing, and serve his WWE king and queen. She says their last conversation was disappointing, but instead of harping on the past – Stephanie says she is a problem solver and always thinks ahead. She says she must fix the mistake she made, as The Outsiders gang up on Finn Balor from out of nowhere. They beat him down, as Sami Zayn comes to his feet. He approaches Nash, but gets a big boot to the face. Nash Powerbombs Zayn while Scott Hall hits a Razor’s Edge onto Balor. Natalya holds her belt high as Mickie stares down her soon to be opponent.

Stephanie seems satisfied, as Kevin Owens walks in. Triple H tells Owens he will have The Outsiders accompany him in his match tonight, but Owens refuses. Owens says THAT is exactly the problem, Hunter doesn’t trust him to get the job done alone. Stephanie suggests they at least ban United States Champion AJ Styles from ringside, since they had a scuffle on Raw. Owens likes the idea, and makes a side comment that Stephanie is better fit to run things than Hunter. Owens leaves to go get ready for his match, as Stephanie tells Triple H that he needs to let go and trust Owens to get the job done by himself.

She asks against who, but Bryan only says that he will enjoy watching every minute of it. Bryan leaves as Stephanie gives him dagger eyes. Bryan quickly returns and says he forgot to tell Stephanie he has some good news. Arena: Raw

He tells the WWE Universe that they have figured out how Bray can magically appear and disappear at will, and it’s Bray Wyatt’s lantern. Cena calls Bray a fraud, and that he would be nothing without the lantern Triple H and Stephanie gave him. The lights quickly go out as Bray Wyatt appears on the big screen. He laughs and tells John that he may have figured out Bray’s magic trick, but he is still a lost puppy in this war. Bray tells John that Triple H & Stephanie didn’t give him anything, and in fact, the lantern was brought in from the Wyatt Family compound. Bray says that Triple H & Stephanie simply guided him in the right direction to receive his lantern’s powers. Balor reveals that his own power doesn’t come from a lantern or an urn, but from himself. The Outsiders laugh even harder, saying Balor has watched too many after school programming on television. Balor tells the two they can laugh now, but when they see his demon, there will be no laughing. Finn turns into his demon persona on the big screen, as The Outsiders pretend to act scared, while laughing. Suddenly the lights go out, as Finn Balor’s demon begins to head towards the ring. He tells Sami that he should leave, because he’s gotten more championship matches aligned with Triple H & Stephanie than with Sami. Zayn tells Owens he is just looking out for his best friend.
